Candy Corn Baby

Isn't he so freaking cute? I could hardly stand it as I was finishing up the costume I was getting so excited to see it on him. Then, as we were struggling to get it on him (he wasn't too thrilled about that part), I was estatic. He was so adorable. I made the bodysuit and my mother-in-law made the hat. When the hat first went together the directions for the pattern were terrible and it came out looking like the hood for a KKK member. It was so sad! Both his grandpa and his dad were making fun of it. Then, we read the directions again and figured out what they wanted us to do, even though they didn't tell us explicitly.

So yesterday was a wacky Wednesday. I got up and was downstairs sewing by 8am. Then, The Boy went down for a nap at 9:30 and I continued to sew. We were supposed to meet Mandy at California Adventure at Noon, but he didn't even wake up until 11:30! So I got his costume finished and got ready with time to spare. We went to California Adventure and saw California Screams, rode Monsters Inc., and watched part of the Aladdin musical. I really want to see the whole thing, but both kids had lost interest and so we decided to go home. I got hom and put him down for an afternoon nap and ran a 2.5 miles and hand sewed the openings shut on his costume. He woke up and played with Grandma while I showered. He had an explosive poopy diaper as I was getting out of the shower, so I had to clean that up. Then, we were 45 minutes late to the Stake Youth Halloween Dance because I spent a 1/2 hour searching for a costume that I had lent to my cousin!!!! I am such a freak. The Boy semi-willingly put on his costume, but was good as gold after it was on and he was in the car with his nummy-nummy (wagon wheel). He had fun flirting with the girls and dancing to the music. We got home and I put him to bed, cleaned the kitchen, and prepped the dinner for tomorrow. It was 11:30 before I was in bed. That wouldn't be so bad, except that I was doing my first sub job today.

Of course I woke up at 4:30 in anticipation of today's job. It was strange to get dressed before 7am and leave my little baby-doo behind. I like staying at home with him and having the experiences of the day. It was good to see my old students and to teach some of them today, but do I want to do it more than once a month? Naw.

Tonight we are having a stew/soup that I got from my friend's blog. She says she might post a great macaroni and cheese recipe, so if she does I'll try that and post it here. The soup has been cooking all day and I am excited not to have to make dinner tonight. Tomorrow we are babysitting my cousin's baby - fun! I haven't seen her in a month, so I am sure she is all grown up. I am getting so excited that my family is coming next week and then the week after that my Aunt is coming to stay for a few days. Fun! Next week I'll be going to Disneyland 3 days - once with the in-laws on Halloween and twice with my parents. Fun! I have rambled on for far too long! Bye!

Had no clue you were a sub...crazy girl. :) ADORABLE COSTUME! You did a great job. I'll have to show Maggie the pictures later. She's been saying all day long that she wants some candy corn. :)
