I Think I'll Move to Australia

That's what Alexander says when he has his terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day and that's what I'd like to do right now:) We've had quite the weekend at the Armstrong house. So, his diarrhea subsided on Thursday and then at 2am on Friday he wakes up crying. Normally I just ignore him, but I got up and rocked him for a 1/2 hour until he went back to sleep. However, when I layed him down he immediately woke up and started crying again. So I picked him up and took him to lay in bed with me because I couldn't sit up anymore. When I layed down with him I put my hand on his little back to rub it and noticed it felt especially warm and that is when our adventure began. He's had a temperature between 100.8 and 103.5 since then, but not consistently and Tylenol has helped to bring it down. Until last night at 5:45 - 45 minutes after Urgent Care closed. Of course. We made it through the night and took him in this morning. His temperature was only 99.9. Of course. The doctor in Urgent Care thought it might be roseola, so she tested his urine, but the test came back free and clear. Phew. I had to run over to church because I needed to teach the lesson. So they went home and The Boy fell asleep. When I got home he was still napping, but his temp was up again. Of course. However, we did get it back down with Tylenol and he has done really well the rest of the evening. I'm hoping the worst is over and he's on the mend. We haven't been sleeping through the night and he wants to nurse when he wakes up, so I am praying that once he is all better it won't have become a habit and we can get back to sleeping through the night. Through all of this he has maintained his wonderfully cute personality. Today I was rocking him in my glider which sits near our living room window. He lifts his head off of my shoulder, points to the telephone wires outside and says, "bird." It was the first time he has labeled something. It was so awesome and so darling. I guess I won't move to Australia. For even as Alexander finds out - they even have terrible, horrible, no good, very bad days in Australia.

Your poor little family! You guys have been through enough of this sickness!!! I hope he is feeling better today. He'll get used to sleeping through the night again, don't worry. I hope he's better in time for his party!
