Happy Birthday My Big Boy

Then

Now - Not much has changed:)

Well, my munchkin is officially one-year-old. Wow! Where did the time go? It seems like yesterday that my water broke at 2:30am and I started franticly cleaning because I wanted it to be clean when my mom came. The nutty things women do when they are in labor. I remember being in the hospital the first night and not wanting to sleep because we were worried about his "singing". I remember holding him for the first time and thinking how beautiful he was. I remember it like it was yesterday and a little part of me wishes it was yesterday. I know the years are going to continue to fly by and I hope my memories of that day on December 5, 2005 don't fade as things in life try to crowd it out. My wish on this wonderful 1st birthday of my beautiful son is to retain the memories of that day perfectly in my mind.

Goofy, is that you?

Today was a fun day. It didn't turn out exactly how we had planned, but we had fun nonetheless. I didn't go to aerobics because he got up around 8am - well, let me clarify that - he got up at 5:30 and had to get in bed with us:) So our morning got a late start and I had some things I needed to get done before our trip to Disneyland. My errands pushed his morning nap back, so he didn't get up until 1:00. I tried putting him down for an afternoon nap at 3:00, but he would have nothing to do with it. So we packed up and went to his birthday trip to Disneyland. I went with the in-laws and Jay was going to meet us at the park for the fireworks. Well, we walk into the park (it's now 4:45) and there is a sign that says the park is closing at 6:00! Jay wasn't even leaving work until 5:30. So we head over to City Hall to see if he can have a sticker for his birthday. Well, they don't have stickers anymore . . . they have buttons! So he gets his button and a phone call from Goofy on the birthday phone. We call mi epsoso and determine that him coming isn't going to work out. Oh! I find out in City Hall the reason the park is closing at 6:00 is for the employee holiday party. Of course! On Walt Disney's birthday - which The Boy shares - they decide to have an employee party. So we ride the train over to New Orleans Square, because that is as far as it is going until the fireworks are over. We were trying to get over to Small World. Since we didn't make it, we rode The Haunted Mansion instead. We decide we want the birthday boy to be with his daddy on his birthday, so we leave the park and meet for dinner at Wendy's. We picked Wendy's because The Boy loves french fries and chicken nuggets. He had fun dipping his french fries in ketchup and eating his very own frosty. He was in hog heaven and the smile on his face was wonderful.

A hat and a button!

He loved all the attention he got today. He loves the "Happy Birthday" song. He loved getting phone calls and having an excuse to hold mommy's phone. He's adorable and I love his gutz. We are looking forward to his little family birthday party on Saturday. We decided not to go big and invite everyone we know because it's his party and he won't really care. It also means less work for me and I like that.

I love chicken nuggets!

Tomorrow I have mutual and I'd like to get things in order for his party. I need to make a list of things I need for his cake and then go and get them. I want to wrap his gifts and get the box in order for his little time capsule from his first year of life. I also don't want to go to bed because then his birthday is over and we're one day closer to him being two! Let's not even go there!

Mmmm . . . Frosty!

Happy Birthday, JT! Sounds like you had a fun day. Kyla, now the real fun starts when he starts to walk and talk. :) Hate to rule you out in the baby pool, but I'm still pregnant. :)
