The most hilarious part was that about 10 minutes later my visiting teacher arrived on her bike with her family. Oh, and her husband is the Bishop:) So The Boy answers the door with me with his new hairdo in his underwear. Fabulous! Then he runs outside and starts using his bubble blowing lawn mower to mow the lawn while I chatted with my nice visiting teacher. She thought his summer hair was awesome and she said I should try using Jello to dye it. That would be cool for 4th of July. I assured the Bishop that it was just a prank for his Grandpa.
He only loved it until it was time for bed and then he had me come into his room twice and asked me to wash it. He wanted the pokey feeling to be gone, so I told him we'd do it after swimming lessons the next day. When Will got home he went into The Boy's room about 10:30 to check it out, but I think his hair was keeping him from sleeping, because he was still half awake. He gave Will a hug and then finally went to sleep. This morning we spiked it back up for swimming lessons so he could show our friends and his swimming teacher his cool hair. After lessons I gave him a bath and got it all washed and trimmed it down a bit for his dentist appointment. He still has a mohawk, just not as dramatic. I would have finished it off, but I didn't have time to use the clippers and shave him down before our appointment. Hooray for summer hair. I wish I could shave mine off. However, every time I've straightened my hair in the past 2 weeks (a total of 3 times), The Boy has grabbed it and said, "I like your hair, Mommy." I just can't do it to him.
His teeth look good. There are only a couple of spots we need to brush a little better. She talked about how he has a strong upper lip muscle and so it's easy for him to keep me out of there and it is so true! That is the spot I'm always fighting him for - the top back molars. She said I don't have to floss yet because his teeth aren't touching, but I think we'll give it a try with the fun flossers to he is used to it when he really has to floss.
