Tomorrow

Still insanely busy with THIS
and THIS
Please feel free to come and see me at either :)

But a blog post I read tonight
written by a friend
(I wish I could link you up, but alas, she's private)
after a long day
(a good day, but a long day)
made me think about tomorrow.
(well, now I'm up so late it's actually today - ha!)

I'm thankful for tomorrows.
For the opportunity to
try a little harder
to do a little better
,

for good morning hugs from these faces
for the restored gospel of Jesus Christ,
for the peace it brings me with the knowledge that
families can be together forever,
our Savior lives,
there is hope even when it seems darkest.

I gave a talk in Sacrament meeting on Sunday
on the topic of
because Jesus walked such a long lonely road alone,
we never have to do so
.
I talked too long
and didn't leave the poor man after me any time -
surprise, surprise.
But I needed to prepare that talk.
I needed to give that talk.
It was a huge blessing in my life.

I probably made a religious faux pas
and compared the Atonement to giving birth.
But for me, it's true.
Because when you're in the moment of having that baby
and the pain is intolerable
and you don't think you can make it through
and you're tired
and you wan to give up
and you never want to experience this
ever again
and if you're me -
you come close to death several times.

But then, you hold that precious baby
and it all changes.
You remember what happened.
You remember the pain,
but you don't feel it quite so vividly anymore.
And you cry.
And you think - I could do that again.
I'm stronger now.
I'm ready for tomorrow.

When life is hard,
and the pain is intolerable
and you don't think you can make it through
and you're tired
and you wan to give up
and you never want to experience this
ever again
and you feel like
you've come close to death several times,
as soon as release that pain and suffering
and let the Savior's Atonement start to take over
it all changes.
You remember what happened.
You remember the pain,
but you don't feel it quite so vividly anymore.
And you cry.
And you think - I could do that again.
I'm stronger now.
I'm ready for tomorrow.

So, happy tomorrow!
Let's all try a little harder to do a little better today.
