Darth Vader, you're my daddy!

You'll have to wait until the end of the post to find out about the title :)

After our big beach day on Thursday we spent a kind of quiet morning at home. While The Girl took her nap, The Boy and I continued working on fine motor skills and letter writing. I loved doing shaving cream when I student taught in Kinder, so we pulled it out and had some fun!

It took a little practice . . .
But look at those Js!

So proud!

We tried going to park day, but by the time The Girl got up from her morning nap it was 11ish and it was already close to 90 degrees outside, so we only lasted about 20 minutes. We did a Costco run and then headed to Wtown to hang out with Grandma and Grandpa. The kids took naps, I ran to Walmart to get a birthday present for Saturday and then we met Uncle P and Aunt V and the Boys at the beach. All the pits were taken, so the boys all played in the water for a little bit and then we came back to the Homestead for a bonfire and some hot dogs. It was a lot of fun. Will had to work, so we missed him chilling with us in the yard.

When we got home, Will had a special surprise for The Boy. He was so excited! He took him into our room to watch Pinocchio. I asked if I could have a bite and he said, "No, he's my friend!" When I checked on him about 20 minutes later, the turtle's legs were missing. I said, "You ate his legs!" He said, "It's ok, mommy. He said he didn't need his legs."
Just a little tough :)
By the time the movie was over all four legs were gone and our bed was full of crusty bread crumbs. Yum!

Today we left Will at home to work (yes, again) and headed to Wtown for a FANTASTIC birthday party. It was so much fun. It was a Star Wars theme so, of course, The Boy had to wear his Star Wars shirt. He was so worried that Darth Vader was going to be there and asked if I would keep him safe. I told him that he had the force, so he was safe from Darth Vader. He exclaimed, "I HAVE A HORSE!" LOL I said, "No, you have the force." He said, "What is the force?" I said, "It's inside you, young padawan." He said, "OHHHH!"

It was a FREAKING hot day! This was after like 15 minutes in the bounce house.
Look at those rosy cheeks

He went to Jedi training

Honing his light saber skills

Even The Girl got in on the action
His final challenge - look at the concentration
He graduated! But refused to stand still - thus the blur

Class graudation picture
Oh no! Darth Vader and another sith lord crashed the party. There was an awesome cake . . .
and darling cupcakes
Ok, the meaning of the title. So, it was O's party and his dad dressed up like Darth Vader to crash the party. When O figured out that it was his dad, he started crying and exlaimed, "Darth Vader, you're my daddy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" LOL It was awesome.

Tonight was our ward corn roast, but after being in the heat for almost 3 hours this afternoon, I was wiped and wasn't up for it. Will was really only going because I wanted to go and to hang out with us. So, we gave up on the idea - especially since I had to drag The Boy out of bed at 5:45 and the corn was served at 5:00. So, we went to the $2 theater and saw up. I loved it and cried a lot. The Boy found it a little intense and didn't like the mean dogs and Will thought it was a downer and not an Upper:) But we had fun together and stayed cool.
