So I have the great idea that I am going to take The Boy to Disneyland today before they take down all of the holiday stuff over the weekend. I know that a lot of the school districts around here are still out, so I figure it will be kind of busy at the parks. UNDERSTATEMENT!!!! Just as I am pulling into the parking structure I see this neon sign telling me, "Disneyland park is FULL. California Adventure still available." What does that mean? Of course it is too late to get out of the parking structure, so I have to wait in line behind 10 cars and then shoot to the left to get out. The parking attendant tries to tell me I am going the wrong way and I tell him I want out because this is crazy! I have never heard of DL being full, crazy!
So we head over to the library so I can pick up some books that are on hold. Guess what? I have totally been in queue to get the book The Memory Keeper's Daughter - which is a book club book from about 4 months ago that I never got to read - and I waited too long and they kicked it back into the computer and someone else gets it now. I was pretty bummed. So, I got back on the waiting list (now I'm #27) and checked out my other three books by Shannon Hale. I read The Goose Girl over the break and it was SOOOOO great. I got it as a gift at the beginning of the summer and I got about 20 pages into ad got bored, so I stopped. Well, I needed a book for the road trip to Utah so I picked it up and threw it in the car. I got so hooked on the drive home that I read until it was too dark to read. It's a must read. So now I have her other 3 books and I'm excited to get started.
The Boy liked the library because there were people he could jabber at. I picked up a calendar and I'm thinking that story time looks like a good idea for one of these days. Then we walked over to the park near the library so he could play around. He loved it. We went down some slides, climbed all over the sidewalk, and jabbered to a cute little girl. After that we came home to find my nephews in the backyard, so he played with them for a little while and now he is down for a nap. He was so good at aerobics today - because I brought his Little Einsteins movie! Genius!

LOL! At first when your hubby told me you were at Disneyland I got all kinds of jealous, and then he said the part about it being full. Dude, that sucks, but hilarious too! Stupid crowded disneyland, how dare they!
My library has a poor selection of books, and anything new release is on hold for a billion years so I always lose patience and just buy the book.
Have you tried shopping for used books? You'd be amazed at what you can find in Goodwill or library book sales. We should go book shopping together, I think that'd be fun!
OMG - Just yesterday I was remembering how LAST January we went the first week and in three hours did two things. It sucked! I guess I should have warned you... :)
