So we had the great idea to take the family boat down to the harbor and look at all the fancy houses decorated with Christmas lights. I was very excited for the event and I thought The Boy would really enjoy it. However, I forgot a few very important things: (1) It would be colder down by the water (2) The Boy would hate wearing a life vest. However, those weren't the worst things that happened on our maiden voyage into the water. My FIL had just backed the boat off of the trailer and into the water and was docking it. My SIL and her friends were getting in, I was waiting for my husband, and my MIL had just given me the truck keys to keep safe. My SIL's poor friend is told to get out of the boat because my FIL realizes he hasn't put the plug back in the boat and that it is taking on water and sinking!!!!! The Boy is throwing a fit because he doesn't want the vest on, my SIL and MIL are trying to get to the truck to get the trailer back in the water, and JJ is running after them because they can't get the truck out of the parking spot. Meanwhile, my FIL is still sinking:) Well, to make a long story short, my husband gets the trailer in the water, we get the boat out, drain it, plug it, and launch it again. The Boy liked the lights, but I think he hated the life vest more. I was freezing because the wind was blowing in my face, but we still had an enjoyable time. Would I do it again next year? Definitely!

Lil man looks so cute in those pics, even though the life jacket must've bugged him. Poor guy.
